After talking about it for three hours on Thursday night, the Southern Pines planning board recommended the town deny an 800-student facility on Camp Easter Road, citing traffic as the main concern. It’s the second attempt by the school board to locate a campus in the area.

So what’s public consensus? At least on this post, it’s that the location is a dumb idea — especially to alleviate crowding at Vass-Lakeview and Farm Life. If you want your opinion heard, the last chance to do so is at the Southern Pines Council’s Oct. 9 meeting: 7 p.m. at the Douglass Community Center.
