The abandoned building, which was once a shoe repair shop, located at 144 W. Pennsylvania Ave. in Downtown Southern Pines, is no longer due to a controlled burn conducted by the fire department on Sunday. Much is still to be done to the property but it’s worth driving by, if only to see how strange it looks without the building there.
