Run, don’t wok, to try the new restaurant, Wok and Roll, located off of Highway 15-501 in Carthage. The restaurant had their soft opening on Friday, July 11th, serving up a variety of Asian and American cuisine, offering everything from pad thai and spring rolls to burgers and wings. The dining inside is limited but they accept to-go orders and have outdoor seating available, weather permitting.

Although opening a new business can be a daunting task, it is not a new one for Wok and Roll’s three owners Loui Vonghom, Keena Khammanivong and Khone Baoheuang. The three women are no newbies; each of them currently own other restaurants in the area. Loui owns Steve’s Pizza, Keena owns Banh-Sen Noodle Bar and Street Food, and Khone owns Ellerbe Pizza and Hot Subs. Keena says that the idea for the restaurant came together organically. “Most nights the three of us get together to cook and have fun,” she says. They decided to put that cooking to good use and start the restaurant to share that same food and friendship with the community.

Keena says that they are excited for the future and have already felt the love of the community. “In the past two days we have gotten great support,” said Keena, adding that they have even had “one customer come in three times.” You could say they’re on a roll.
Hours are subject to change but for now it is Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, they are shooting for an early August grand opening when they plan to extend hours and start accepting online orders.
