If You’re Trying to Yeet the Wheat
You tolerate a lot of things, but maybe gluten isn’t one of them. Jessi Hamilton, owner of Daily Sprinkles, gets it. She has celiac disease and knows how hard it is to find gluten-free options, especially when you want something on theme. Her business specializes in custom gluten-free desserts like chocolate-covered pretzels and Oreos, dipped Rice Krispies and cake-sickles.
Jessi has always been her own baker but began making treats for friends baby showers. “They said I should keep doing it and I noticed there was a hole when it came to gluten free,” says Jessi. Now that she has taken the leap, she is proud to be contributing to the statistics of women-owned businesses as an example for her own daughters.
Jessi can make both gluten-free and traditional treats, but says she’s very meticulous about keeping things separate. “I’ve been ‘glutened’ many times. I understand the needs. Everything is separate — every mold, mixing bowl, etc. I even wrap my counters and table in plastic wrap,” says Jessi. She also doesn’t charge any extra for gluten-free. “I’ve had to pay extra my whole life, I don’t want to do that,” she says. A website is in the works, but for now you can order by email at dailysprinklestreats@gmail.com.
