Roads May Be Closed, But They Aren’t

Downtown Carthage kinda looks reminiscent of an archaeological dig right now, but local businesses urge the public to come anyway. They’re still open, but struggling to get foot traffic due to construction. The road work is the first phase of the Carthage downtown revitalization plan, which will eventually lead to more sidewalks, crosswalks and a better look overall. Town manager Emily Yopp says the project is estimated for completion in late October or early November (depending on weather). See the latest on traffic patterns from the town’s Facebook.
