High Octane is the realization of a dream of Kelly McAndrew, Tracy Harrison and Nicola Squires. As soon as the property became available in June, the three friends jumped at the opportunity to bring a long-held idea to life.
“We really want to bring back that coffee-and-conversation feel,” says Squires. “Yes, we will still have spots where you can come in and bring your laptop, but we really want it to be a meeting place like coffee places used to be.”
The shop plans to break away from the standard to-go cup, serving every in-house coffee in a vintage mug with a shortbread almond cookie — the shop’s signature treat — on the side.
Look for a soft opening around the end of the month; follow the shop’s progress on Facebook. And if you’re looking for a job, the shop is hiring.
