Aberdeen is slowly becoming a hub for furniture and interior design type spaces. Another one has just been added to the mix: Elliott Rowell. The artful interior space recently opened for anything from finding a finishing furniture or art piece to full home interior design.
Jen Norris and Teresa Pearce are friends who combined their love for cozy spaces to begin the business. Both women have vastly different backgrounds than their current role— Jen was in the hospitality world and Teresa was in the military. Both have lived all over before settling in the area. “We saw tons of shops like this in bigger cities, we wanted to create something like that here,” says Teresa.
Elliott Rowell also carries customizable furniture where you can customize things like couches from the upholstery, legs, skirts, amount of cushions, etc. Inside the store you’ll find vignettes of different aesthetics. “Sometimes looking at your own home can be overwhelming and we want to be helpful and welcoming,” says Jen. The two also want to help showcase artists both locally and in the greater NC area. They try to pick pieces that go nicely with the furniture available in the store.
“I think we are really complimentary to the other shops here. It makes the town kind of a one-stop-shop for design,” says Teresa. “We picked Aberdeen because it has so much potential. We want to grow as a business just like the town wants to grow,” says Jen. Stop in Wednesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Tuesday by appointment only.
