They’ll Take Ya to the Candy Shop

Pretty in Pink Market & Mercantile has made Middleton Street in Robbins even sweeter. Sisters Kelby Hancock and Brittany Hancock saw the dirty soda craze via TikTok and decided to give it a go themselves. What started in January with dirty soda pop-ups has quickly grown. Last month they opened a brick and mortar. “We just decided to have it right here, because this is our hometown where we’ve all grown up,” says Kelby.

The sweet shop features candied fruits, dirty popcorns, cookies, açai bowls, cotton candy and more. The entire family pitched in during taste-testing sessions to develop the unique flavors and pairings, such as watermelon Tajin candy apples. Need sugar-free? They offer that too for dirty soda syrups.

After satisfying your sweet tooth, you can browse the vendor booths, where you’ll find crafts and goods made by other Robbins makers. Kelby and Brittany hope to make Pretty in Pink a welcoming spot for all ages, and as the business grows, they plan to expand the fun with game and movie nights.
