Fish Co., the 18-seat sushi, sashimi and cocktail concept has officially closed its doors. Owner chef Scott Wolcott was moving equipment out yesterday after nearly two years in business on the corner of W. Pennsylvania Avenue and Bennett Street in downtown Southern Pines.
Scott’s first concept for the former consignment shop was a bar for Wolcott’s, which he still owns next door, before the idea evolved into what Fish Co. became. “I just couldn’t keep the staff,” he said. “I kept the place running for the last four months. Things were going really well before COVID, but then my staff kept disappearing.”
Scott’s keeping the equipment in case another opportunity for a secondary restaurant arises — “you never know,” he says. In the meantime, you can still catch him at Wolcott’s from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
