Meet Dayna Morrow, the artist behind crocheted baby animals that are arguably cuter than your baby (don’t @ us). Dayna’s never crocheted anything like a blanket or hat — for her, the thrill is in bringing to life just about any animal you can think of. She’s made everything from cows and deer to octopi, ducks and even a giant kangaroo.

It typically takes 4-8 hours to make one of the small animals she sells at her business, The Pines Cozy Critters. “It’s a lot of trial and error,” she says. They’re all washable and made using yarns without harsh dyes because she knows firsthand that kids put everything in their mouths. She also knows kids are bound to lose them, and loves that she’s able to create a replacement.

You can find her selling at various pop-up events or festivals around the county. She also takes custom orders, but says it’s challenging to keep her inventory up. “It definitely took off more than I thought it would,” she says, adding that there’s a unique community for small businesses in the area. Find her at Pop Up in the Pines on June 22 or DM her via Instagram for custom orders.
