CARTHAGE: Parkwood Farms has pumpkins and gourds farther than the eye can see, all grown by Union Pines High School Agricultural teacher Thadd Davis. Pumpkins ranging from $1-$12 are available every day of the week — as Thadd says, “when the sun is shining, the farm is open.” Find Parkwood Farm at 4617 N.C. 22. Cash only. 

CAMERON: White Hill Farms has a corn maze and pumpkin patch open daily. See hours here, pumpkin.

SANFORD: Weekends now through November 3 navigate through the giant corn maze at Gross Farms, kid’s can play a game of whodunnit in the maze. You can also do other activities like hay rides, a pedal kart track and jump pad. Visit the pumpkin patch on the way out. Have a gourd time.

FAYETTEVILLE: Have a fa-boo-lous time at Gillis Hill Road Produce where you can buy pumpkins, mums and local honey or enjoy activities like a giant slide, corn maze and seeing farm animals. Go big or gourd home.

CHAPEL HILL: Get your dose of autumn but add goats at Spring Haven Farm. Book a time for pumpkin carving with goats or perhaps a murder mystery night… with goats. Baaaaaa.

HOPE MILLS: Gallberry Corn Maze has 12 acres of farm fun. Enjoy kids activities, photo-ops, pumpkin picking, hayrides and nas-hawg pig racing. Yes, really. You can watch pig racing. Choose between a season pass or a one-day admission. Give ’em pumpkin to talk about.
