NEW YEARS EVE
FOR THE FAMILY:
- Noon to 6 p.m.: Wee Pines is open for mini golf both New Year’s Eve and New Year day. Hole-in-one fun.
- 5:30-8 p.m.: Reserve your lanes early at Sandhills Bowling Center for cosmic bowling. Get the details.
- 6-8 p.m.: First Eve in Downtown Southern Pines will be complete with a pinecone drop. There will be characters, face painting, music and more.
FOR A NICE MEAL:
- Starting at 5 p.m.: Reserve your spot at the Villaggio Ristorante and Bar for a four-course dinner with an optional wine pairing. Choose your time.
- 5-8 p.m.: Table on the Green hosts a 4-course New Year’s Eve dinner with an American-Thai fusion. Plus enjoy live jazz music. Reserve a seat.
- 5-9 p.m.: The Pinecrest Inn has its annual New Year’s Eve Dinner. Call to reserve a time at $45 per person. See the menu.
WHILE THE NIGHT IS YOUNG:
- 4-7 p.m.: Standing Room Only is open for bottle buying or by-the-glass sipping. Sip, sip, hooray.
- 4-7 p.m.: James Creek Cider House is open for early drinks. You can also get growlers or bottles to take home for later. Sweet or dry?
- 4-10 p.m.: Grab a drink from the newest bar in downtown Southern Pines: Cork.
- Open until 8 p.m.: Pregame the night with Southern Pines Brewing Co. taprooms. Beer for a good time.
- Open until 10 p.m.: Choose beer and ciders from all over at Southern Pines Growler Co. The Trailer Park Romeos band will be playing the blues. Bring it on.
TO RING IT IN:
- 6 p.m. to midnight: Toast every hour on the hour until midnight at BHAWK. There’ll be an oyster bar and live music from 7-11 p.m. Cheers.
- Until midnight: Celebrate with champagne and live music at The Wine Cellar. Pop the bubbly.
- 8 p.m.- until: Celebrate with a red and black themed party at Pinehurst Resort. You’ll enjoy a live band and large dance floor plus a gourmet dinner buffet, late-night bites, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are limited.
- 8 p.m. until: Hatchet Brewing Co. kicks off its New Year’s Eve party with beer, cocktails and a food truck. Brew-ti-ful.
- 8:30 p.m. – until: Celebrate with Dugan’s Pub, there will be a DJ and complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Drink it up.
- 9 p.m. to midnight: Drum & Quill celebrates the new year with live music from Casey Schuck and drink specials, a champagne toast, giveaways and more. Kitchen open until 10:30 p.m. Here’s to 2025.
- 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Get dressed up for 1901 Lounge and Chaotic House Events New Year’s masquerade with DJs and dancing. There is a $10 cover. Leave 2024 with some mystery.
- 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.: The bar at the Pinecrest Inn is slinging drinks. The band Dark Horse will bring the tunes. It’s always a good time.
- 9 p.m. until: Join Railhouse Brewery for a countdown party with music by Mary Stone and a midnight toast. No cover charge.
- 9 p.m. until: The Bell Tree Tavern has live music, a champagne toast and countdown. Party in the pub.
- 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Join DJ Saxy at O’Donnell’s Pub. Party rockin’.
- 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Kataonik rocks the house at Neville’s. Feel the beat.
January 1:
- 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Celebrate National Bloody Mary Day with Elliotts on Linden with drinks and brunch. Cost is $35/per. Make a rezzie.
- 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Join Maxies Grill & Tap Room for New Years Day specials including tradition southern grub like pork loin, collard greens and black eyed peas. If you’re superstitious, you eat it for luck, health and wealth.
- 1-2 p.m.: Join Weymouth Woods & Nature Preserve for an easy First Day Hike and Moccasin Bridge ribbon cutting. More info here.
