Foster, a miniature Australian shepherd, and Jamie McDevitt, Pinehurst and Southern Pines Realtor, have been best buds for 15 years. Jamie got him as a puppy, and got the name from a bottle of beer she spotted around the same time she set up shop in downtown Southern Pines.
Foster has dressed up as a pumpkin to greet trick-or-treaters, worn a cowboy hat at Annie Oakley Boom Days in Pinehurst, and been photographed for countless magazine ads. Jamie’s biweekly “Where’s Foster” vlog has followedthe pair around the Pines, from a lighting shop in Aberdeen to sampling the Sly Fox’s dog menu. Now 105 in dog years, Foster is retiring from a life as theposter pup for everything fun and fascinating in the Sandhills.
To celebrate Foster’s retirement, Jamie will donate $1 (up to $500) to local animal charities for every click on Foster’s career highlight reel. We can’t think of an easier way for you to give back.
