Renae Wheaton washes away stress by grooming dogs so their owners don’t have to. She also practices an important public service, publishing ridiculously wholesome edits of groomed dogs that’ll give you a boost after being forced to read nastygrams from your boss on Microsoft Outlook.
Since 2022, Southern Pawz Mobile Grooming has been operating a mobile trailer that’s especially helpful for large, anxious or senior dogs. “It’s really about the comfort for the dog. I want a place they can feel safe,” says Renae.Clients don’t need to provide water or electric either as the trailer comes fully equipped.
You can’t miss the trailer when you see it. Pictured on it are pine trees and six dogs, each of which are part of Renae’s personal pack. Its slogan is “We give custom cuts from nose to butt.”
“Not many people can say, ‘I’m living my dream,'” says Renae, who’s passionate about her profession. “I got told I’d never make it in this industry but here I am with two shops and a mobile. There’s a need here,” she says.
Cost depends on the size, breed, coat type, etc. and Renae includes a fun photo with a seasonal background with each session just for funsies.
