Ingredients:
3 sticks unsalted butter
3 cups sugar (can substitute 1/2 cup for brown sugar)
4 eggs
2 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp salt
5 cups flour
Royal Icing:
5 tbsp meringue powder
3/4 cup warm water
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Full bag of powdered sugar
Gel food coloring as desired
Add water to desired thickness
Use piping bags for designs
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and mix together. Add vanilla, salt and spices and mix. Slowly mix in flour. Chill dough in fridge. Roll out to 1/4″ thickness and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-14 minutes until edges are brown. Decorate and enjoy!
