For Your Next Bankquet

There’s a new event space on Broad Street in the old Wells Fargo building at 600 SW Broad St. If that doesn’t make cents to you, it’s because we formerly reported it would be Taglio’s, a European-style potato bar. That’s only half of the building. The other side is now Banq on Broad, a roughly 3,000-square-foot event space for anything from corporate events to training seminars, pop-ups and weddings.

Owners Stephen Fore and Kristy Hansen didn’t initially plan to do a second business but decided to invest in the opportunity. They wanted the space to have a modern feel. A TV wall, where you can display one large image or multiple smaller ones, is in the works, and Stephen is also invested in having a high-tech sound system. “I think this will fill a hole in the area,” says Kristy. “Plus, weather doesn’t always permit outdoor get-togethers.”

One of Stephen’s goals was to optimize the space, creating an event check-in or gift area, a DJ area and a catering area rather than offering a big square room. There is currently a built-in dance floor and plans for making the old vault into a bar area.

Stephen’s idea for the space is to be clubhouse style where you can get catering from Taglio’s if you so choose. “We learned some things from having (Lighthouse on) Little River,” says Stephen. The couple owns that restaurant in Carthage, as well as Dugan’s Pub in Pinehurst.

Kristy says you can expect to see a facelift on the exterior of the building in the coming months to make it look more modern, similar to Taglio’s. If you want your next shindig on the books, Banq on Broad is currently booking. Call (910) 603-3733 for inquires.
