Jaya’s Indian Cuisine Now Open in New DTSP Space

After three years of serving takeout from a May Street kitchen, Jaya’s Indian Cuisine is now open for dine-in service at its new home: 169 N.E. Broad St. in Southern Pines.

Owners Maran and Jaya Elamaran are serving vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and full-guilt meals at the space recently vacated by Bambu Boba Café. The May Street location is closed, but the family plans to keep the food truck on the road. “We’re excited; maybe too excited,” Jaya laughs. “We’re happy to be here.”

The restaurant is now in its soft opening phase, but you can expect an eventual expansion to the much-loved lassi lineup — plus a continued focus on daily specials, and entrees and sides that look more organized than we’ll ever be.

Jaya’s serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. During the hours in between, you’ll find a selection of small plates for second lunch or pre-dinner. It’s like they know us.

The menu changes each day. See what was on today’s menu, then plan your meals by watching their Insta.
