Keep it Berry Fresh

Fly over to Jackson Springs, where Eagle’s Nest Berry Farm has been operating since 1999. The farm’s main draw is blueberries but blackberries, flowers and other crops are also grown on the farm. Owner Karyn Ring runs it alongside her two siblings, who both came on board after retiring last year.

The season is typically June to the middle of August, depending on the variety. “We can’t pick them fast enough,” says Karyn. That’s part of the reason they began offering U-pick back in 2006. There are around 12 varieties on the farm so you can mix and match what you like, or call ahead for pre-picked berries. U-pick is currently offered from 7:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Saturday.
