Leap What You Sew

Local artist Larissa Lycholaj has partnered with R. Riveter for a limited collab dubbed “Take the Leap.” Larissa has been seriously pursuing art for the last four years and has been a painted pony artist more than once. Since she got out of the military earlier this year, she has gotten back into horseback riding and has given greater focus to her fine art. Larissa says the deeper message of “Take the Leap” is to “do the things that scare you.”

She says she appreciates working with R. Riveter, which employs military spouses, because she has experienced all the phases of military life — from marrying someone in the military to joining herself and then transitioning out. “You are capable of a lot more than you might think and that’s what the military taught me. That experience gave me the courage to pursue art and take the leap,” says Larissa.

The winged horse is also available as a blanket, woven in Western North Carolina. See more of the collection here.
