Baile Inolvidable

Super Bowl watchers can be sorted into a few categories: there for the football, there for the food, there for the commercials and the halftime show, and those just happy to be there. Brittney Alayna Ayers is there for the dance. No really, this local dance instructor is performing during Bad Bunny’s halftime show this Sunday. It’s not her even her first time on the field — she also danced during Justin Timberlake’s 2018 performance.

Brittney has been dancing since she was a child and now at 28 has tons of experience, including dancing on a short tour for Lil Yachty. She teaches at a few local dance studios. Her mentor, based in California, reached out to see if she wanted to be in a concept video that was later sent to the NFL for its halftime show performer search. She got an offer in January and has had less than two weeks to learn the routine.

“There’s something about being on the field with a huge community, whether it be the dancers or the people watching football. It’s great to see people come together and celebrate something,” she says. Despite sometimes feeling small on such a large field with so many moving parts, she says each dancer is a big asset to the overall production.

Brittney happens to be a huge Bad Bunny fan, which makes everything even more exciting for her. “There’s always a storyline with the halftime show,” she says but thanks to an NDA, she couldn’t tell us the concept for this one. She says “the energy from people around you helps with the fear of performing,” and shaking off the nerves is just part of the routine. To catch the rest, you’ll have to spot her on the field.
