5 p.m., 6 p.m.: Join Southern Pines CrossFit for a Gold Star Murph. Support Gold Star teens and get a WOD shirt. Can’t make Thursday? There’s multiple times Friday as well. Get to work.
6 p.m.: Head to the Fair Barn for Beef & Beer, the annual Duskin & Stephens Foundation fundraiser, silent auction and more. Get tickets.
Friday, May 26:
5 to 8 p.m.: ARTworks in Vass hosts Final Fridays featuring a new collection of art from featured artists. Enjoy socializing, demonstrations, door prizes and more.
5 to 9 p.m.: Kick of the Sandhills Motoring Festival with a block party at The Pinecrest Inn. Enjoy an informal car show with a BBQ dinner and a live band. Rev your engines.
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.: Enjoy an evening of outdoor music at Sandhills Winery with Doc Roc. There will be a food truck and beverages available for purchase.
Saturday, May 27:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Giddy up to the Pinehurst Harness Track as the Carolina Polocrosse Club hosts their annual Memorial Day weekend tournament. The event is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available.
8 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Sandhills Motoring Festival hosts multiple events throughout the day in various locations. See schedule here.
11 a.m. to noon: The Moore County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 966 are sponsoring a Memorial Day observance at the Moore County Veterans Memorial Park, off Carriage Oaks Drive, in Carthage. This is a free event.
12:30 p.m.: Splash into summer because the Southern Pines pool and splash pad will open for the summer season. See pricing and info.
6 p.m: Honor the memory and legacy of fallen soldiers at Railhouse Brewery as they hold a memorial roll call with the Duskin and Stephens Foundation. Arrive early so you don’t interrupt. Live music with John Teal will follow.
SUNDAY, May 28:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Enjoy Sandhills Motoring Festival’s premiere car show event with automobiles displayed in the streets of the historic Village of Pinehurst. Awards show starting at 2pm. Vroom Vroom.
Monday, May 29:
6 a.m. or 9 a.m.: Join FirstHealth Fitness for a Memorial Day Murph workout that’s free and open to the community. Honor the fallen.
8 a.m.: Join Special Forces Charitable Trust for its annual Memorial Day Ruck up for the Regiment event. Choose between a 5k or 10k course in-person at Southern Pines Brewing Co. on Air Tool Drive or participate virtually. Dedicate your run in someone’s honor and help fundraise for the Trust. 9:30 a.m.: Join SLAM Southern Pines as they honor and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with a Memorial Day MURPH. This is a FREE class for non-members but sign up ahead.
11 a.m.: The Sandhills Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), will hold a Memorial Day Observance at The Village Chapel in Pinehurst. The service will include a bagpipe prelude by Peter McArthur, national anthem by 82nd Airborne Brass Quintet, taps by Connor Cuthrell and patriotic music by the Golf Capital Chorus. Noon to 8 p.m.: Get your game on at Rec Room. All draft beer will be $5 and every beer purchase will come with some free tokens. There will also be raffles from Spiritus Systems and all proceeds will be donated to the local VFW. Ready, player one.
