Love Is in the Hair
Meet Lily Santana Parks, a hairstylist who founded house-call hair service The Traveling Tress. Whether her clients are elderly, recovering from surgery or recently postpartum, Lily aims to meet people where they are physically and emotionally. For her, the services are about more than just hair. “This is my faith-led calling,” she says.

Along with 12 years of experience as a licensed hairdresser, Lily has worked as a nanny and caregiver and is a certified nursing assistant. “I feel like my background gives clients or their caretakers an added comfort,” she says. She has also worked with high-sensory children who need to be in their own environment to be comfortable.

“I have a love for people. It’s very easy and natural for me to pour into people,” says Lily, “and there’s such a need in our community.” She does a pre-appointment consultation to customize each client’s experience, but is big on making every service feel luxurious. So far, hot towels and head massages have been a hit.
Lily’s willing to travel all around Moore County, and hopes to eventually build a team that shares her shear passion for helping others. Want to cut to the chase? Oh-oh, hair she comes.
