Meet mocktail master Blair Horton, a holistic nutritionist and chef who lives in Colorado but is originally from Pinehurst. Last fall, she released her first recipe book focused on holistic mocktails and matchas called Everyday Elixirs. Blair was already well known in the holistic realm thanks to her social media presence and blog. Although she never thought she’d write this kind of book, she kept getting requests and decided to go for it. Now you can find the book nearly everywhere – even Anthropologie.

“I’ve never been a huge drinker but I wanted to have fun drinks still. Thats what got me started with making elixirs or functional drinks,” says Blair. “People just want to be able to have something fun that feels special at the end of the day.”

Blair was originally an art major before switching to nutrition. “The fact that I can connect my two passions of being very creative and developing recipes with my passion for health and wellness, especially women’s wellness, is a cool thing,” she says. She aimed to make the majority of the drinks approachable using fresh, real ingredients as well as spices you probably already have.
