Ready or Not, Here We Come

If you have yet to find a glass pinecone hidden on a Moore County trail, fret not. There are two more scavenger hunts to participate in this year, because adults love doing things originally designed for kids.

  • Starting Sept. 18: Search for glass dewberries, each created by an artist at Starworks, at Phillips Memorial Park in Cameron. There are only 100, so town staff ask that you just take one, and register it by scanning its attached QR code. Just dew it.
  • Starting Oct. 19: Try your luck at finding pottery pinecones by Seagrove potter Crystal King. Like the glass pinecones, these are part of the Pinehurst, Southern Pines and Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau’s “Pinecone Pathways” program. Tell all your cone-tacts.
