The National Athletic Village (NAV) regularly holds camps when school is out. In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, the 70-acre facility has increased its staff to allow for outdoor-only activities for kids in groups of no greater than 10.
“The National Athletic Village will be open as long as government regulations allow in order to help essential personnel with child care concerns,” owner Leigh Bortins said in a statement.
Bortins said the small-group, outdoor-only activities will keep children in “appropriate social distances,” and that any equipment used would be sanitized between each group play session.
“Children will be rotated in small play groups to go indoors for hydration and bathroom breaks,” she said.
