Don’t Have a Cow

Rent one. New business Highfalls Highlands has cute fluffy cows for hire. Stephanie Phillips and Carole Boxell are already farmers, but highlands are a new venture for them. Stephanie is an insurance broker and Carole is a mortgage lender, so they needed something a little more mooving as a side hustle. Highlands “make you feel good just looking at them,” says Stephanie. 

You can book cow encounters, field trips, photography sessions and more at their farm near Highfalls. You can also have the cows come to you for things like birthday parties or weddings. “The barn scene is really hot right now, so I’m hoping people will want them for their photoshoots,” says Stephanie. They could even dress up a cow to match seasonal themes.

The two also plan to also grow their herd to 40 cows. “I want to make sure we are responsible breeders, though,” says Stephanie. They have about 90 acres of land and highlands are naturally smaller cows, which means you can have more per acre. Want another fun fact? Both boy and girl highland cows have horns.
