FirstHealth’s newest fitness center will open Sept. 25 in Whispering Pines. It’ll share the old Ace Hardware with a Dollar General, because there’s nothing like adaptive reuse. In addition to all the usual stuff you’d find in a gym, FirstHealth Fitness Whispering Pines will feature an outdoor turf area and high-intensity training and classes. Members will also have 24/7 access.

“Providing access to those who have confidence in their training abilities, yet need access outside the current FirstHealth Fitness hours of operation, now have a location with FirstHealth quality in a 24/7 opportunity,” says John Caliri, administrative director of FirstHealth Fitness. “Meanwhile, if you need some more help, we have experts at our Pinehurst and Southern Pines locations.” Here’s how to become a member. 

• But wait! There’s more. The building will also host a FirstHealth Convenient Care, which will be open 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. seven days a week.
