Gas It Up

At last! We have a gas station between Vass and Southern Pines for those of us who let our tanks ride on empty a little too often and fall victim to the “I’ll just fill up in the morning,” delusion. Minuteman Food Mart is located where Youngs Road meets U.S. 1 and officially opens tomorrow, Tuesday Aug. 26. The gas station has a Little Caesars and a Minuteman kitchen serving up biscuits, hot wings, bone-in chicken, mashed potatoes, livers and gizzards (yep), lunch sandwiches and more. 

• Tuesday, Aug. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Stop into the grand opening for free samples, a DJ, giveaways and more. The first 200 guests get a swag bag. Make a pit stop.
