Good For the Soul
There’s a new spot to shop in Carthage full of locally sourced vintage and curated handmade goods. It’s called Sun + Soul Collective, located behind Buggy Town Coffee. Co-owners (and sisters) Heather Fino and Ellyse Cudreas both grew up in Southern Pines and have always wanted to do something together. Heather now lives in Raleigh and Ellyse recently resettled in Carthage. “We come from a very creative family,” says Heather, so opening a store like this was a natural fit.

“We’re choosing things we would have in our own home for the store,” says Heather. You can browse art, jewelry, candles, hats and more. The location, they say, is also a plus because people can grab a coffee next door before coming in to shop.

“Having a spot for all these artists to come together is really special,” says Ellyse, as is “to be a small business helping other small businesses right here in Carthage,” adds Heather. Regular store hours are Wednesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Help them celebrate their grand opening Saturday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with pop-up vendors, fall treats, pumpkin painting and more. You’re the sun to me.
