No More Blooms From Thistle & Moon

Thistle & Moon owner Mary Furby announced last week that she would soon be closing her Broad Street storefront and that the fall 2025 wedding season would be her last as a florist. In an Instagram post, she said she felt the business is keeping her from the life she wants to have, but stepping back would also result in a business she wouldn’t be happy calling her own.
“I would like to make it very clear: this is not a financial decision,” she wrote. “We are so lucky to have been supported so strongly by our community and couples over the years.”
Mary expects to close by August, but it depends on how fast a new tenant moves in and how fast things in the shop sell. Retail items won’t be restocked, but you can expect to find fresh flowers until the shop closes. She says feedback so far has been sad but understanding, and she joked that she’s “ready for sleep.”
“My whole team has known about it for a while so we’ve all had time to process it. This feels right and I feel like the next chapter of my life will all fall into place,” she said. For updates, follow Thistle & Moon on IG.
