The village is expected to issue building permits to Pinehurst Resort this week.
ICYMI: The resort is building a brewery and pub near the Arboretum, on McCaskill Road. The design incorporates a defunct steam plant, built in 1895 to power the village’s hotels and homes. The old smokestack — torn down years after the plant was decommissioned in 1998 — will be rebuilt, and a covered terrace, outdoor dining area, beer garden and event lawn will be added.
