Prepare for the Lunk Alarm

In case you haven’t been targeted by ads for Planet Fitness, a franchise location is currently under construction in Aberdeen. The address is 11240 US 15-501, near China Garden Buffet. Now we just need to know how many treadmill minutes it takes to burn off a crab rangoon.

According to company spokesperson Amanda Pleiter, the new club will be staffed 24 hours a day for five days a week. Amenities will include all the equipment you’d expect, free wifi and 60″ TVs that’ll span the length of the gym plus tanning beds, massage chairs and “wellness pods” designed for relaxation. 

“We plan to begin membership pre-sale soon, and the new location is currently set to open in early 2023,” Amanda wrote in an email. Sign up for updates.
