Winos like us may recognize Melissa Andersen from her years pouring tastings at Triangle Wine. After the Southern Pines location closed, the owners of Southern Pines Growler Co. asked her to come aboard and help expand their wine selection. “I like to pick interesting things that people may have never tasted,” says Melissa. “My tagline is ‘a wine tasting for the curious palate.'” 

She’s created shelves to browse as well as “Sipping on Sunday,” a small bites and wine pairing, and “Fun Wine Friday,” where you’ll be introduced to unique wines you can try for free. Fun Wine Fridays also offer no corkage fee on the tasting wines and 10% off featured bottles. 

“I love the educational aspect and helping people broaden their perspectives on things. There are so many wines out there and so much to learn. One will never get bored,” says Melissa. She also says every year Mother Nature does something different, which means even the “same wine” could taste unique from year to year.
