Caring Hearts for Canines has raised enough money to buy the building that the rescue has been operating out of since 2014. The “Buy the Building” campaign began on June 8, when Caring Hearts’ founder and president Jennifer Chopping announced that the building’s owner was looking to sell the facility, but giving her organization first rights to buy it. The fundraising effort received a big boost from an anonymous donor who matched the $100,000 raised, meeting the $200,000 purchase price.
“We might own the building, but without our dog pack we can’t do this on our own,” Caring Hearts said in a Sunday Instagram post. “Tonight, please give your pups an extra treat to celebrate the dogs becoming their own landlord!”
