If you swear something looks different when you walk into Cork lately, it’s not just the alcohol talking. The walls got a glow-up. “We have these big massive walls and wanted to put some local art up,” says owner Pat McKee. “I wanted something very Southern Pines, but not necessarily golf-focused to start.” When he heard oil painter Susan Dahlin was looking for a gallery, he thought, “let’s just make an artist’s corner.”

The corner will rotate every few months, displaying local pieces for sale like a mini gallery. Susan’s work features horses, the Moore County Hounds and an abstract version of The Ice Cream Parlor. The corner has a QR code to learn more, or purchase a piece of art.
In the outdoor corridor leading to Cork lies more added personality, a permanent mural by the Artist League of the Sandhills. “It’s an alley so we had to do alley cats,” laughs Pat. “We wanted it to have a 60s style and this is what they came up with.”

“There’s been a lot of positive feedback,” says Pat. “It’s just another way that we can help support the community.” Get a taste.
