Desk for Success
Spreadsheet the word, another new co-working space has entered the building — what’s been dubbed The Broads building, that is. The Corner Collective, at 290 SW Broad St. in Southern Pines, was started by Kristen Moracco, Christine Edwards and Sarah Reagan. It features a variety of seating options, including desks that have a sit or stand option and rentable walking pads. It also has a print station, conference room, kitchenette and mail station.
The three women all have full time jobs and used to frequent the same coffee shops to get work done. “Constantly working at home can be isolating,” Christine says. “You really just miss the community after a while.”
Because they wanted to really hammer home that community is what it’s all about, members of The Corner Collective will get 10% discounts at partner businesses like Thistle & Moon, Sandhills Nanny Co. and more. They partner with various businesses, such as Nomad Jax, for a lot of the wall art, but other pieces from local artists will also be available for purchase. Kristen and Christine are military spouses and Sarah is a veteran, so there is also a 10% military discount.
So how does it work? There’s an app where you can explore multiple membership options, from a day or a week pass to a “residence,” complete with your own desk and lockable storage. Final touches are still being added but the space is open and ready to work in now. Explore options here.
