Craft Your Farewells 

Thistle & Moon’s last day has been set. It will be closing its doors Saturday, Aug. 30. Owner Mary Furby announced back in July that she would be closing not just the storefront but the business. She said, “I would like to make it very clear: this is not a financial decision. We are so lucky to have been supported so strongly by our community and couples over the years.”

Her mantra after making the difficult decision to close is “to exit respectfully and gracefully,” as she has been working to sell the last of her inventory and move onto the next phase of her life and career. There are some in-store sales happening now. You can say farewell to Mary and her staff from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

• So, what’s moving in? Kid Centric Creative Studio. It will serve primarily as a drop-in kids creative space where kids can come for a planned weekly craft during open hours. But owner Paige Martinez also plans to have a teen crafting area and some mom’s craft night out events. She is aiming to be open by Sept. 13, when Maisonette throws its one year anniversary block party. Stay tuned for details.
