You Don’t Need a Lot to Tie the Knot
Not everyone wants all the pomp and planning that comes with a wedding. Especially in this economy. That’s where Brittany Van Nuland comes in with Newland Weddings, which offer packages that wrap photography, design and floral services into one — removing some of the stress of finding multiple vendors and making sure they’re on the same page.
Brittany has been in the wedding industry for 14 years, beginning as a photographer. She is from Wisconsin but recently moved to the area with her husband, who is in the military. She’s more than willing to travel for an elopement (Thailand has been the furthest spot to date).
“It kind of brings a certain clientele. Maybe military, maybe people who don’t want something big and fancy,” says Brittany. She’s seen anywhere from four to 20 people at her elopements and micro-weddings; her packages cover courthouse ceremonies as well as destinations you’d have to hike to.
She’s also more than willing to travel for an elopement, Thailand has been the furthest spot to date.
A bouquet is included in each package, but Brittany has even made full hanging installations for her clients to have the photos of their dreams. “I’m living out my dream come true and I’m passionate about it, and I think that passion reflects in other people’s weddings,” she says.
Brittany typically books out three months in advance but if you’re eager to get married, she says it’s always worth reaching out — she’s pulled together elopements in a week. Ready to say “I Do?” You can do it here.
