Trip’s Teeter Tour
The (c)art of music can make any occasion better, even grocery shopping. Meet musician Trip Rogers, who promotes his music gigs at Harris Teeters with images around the store. They are titled “Trip’s Teeter Tour” —admittedly, their punny nature got our attention.
And yes, we said Harris Teeters plural. You may have seen Trip Rogers at our Pinehurst Harris Teeter a time or two, but he actually isn’t local. Trip and his wife live outside of Charlotte but says, “we have fallen in love with Moore County.”
Trip began by playing at his local Harris Teeter and then got picked up by East Coast Entertainment, who contracts with Harris Teeters around the state. We didn’t know these grocery stores were that invested in a good time at the corporate level, but we love to see it.
Trip now serenades around nine different Harris Teeters, playing 2-4 a month, making him on a literal Teeter Tour. When East Coast Entertainment first said they were expanding to Moore County, they asked if Trip would be willing to go, “as often as you’ll send me,” he said. He has been playing in Pinehurst for two years.
Trip jokes that he’s in his third decade of a mid-life crisis and that music is now his full time job. In addition to touring the Teeters, he also has a few bands and plays at Celtic festivals and Highland games, kilt and all.
His grocery store acts are fresh with classic rock anywhere from the 70s to the early 2000s, he also loves a good guitar solo. (Fun fact: His favorite guitar shop happens to be Casino Guitars)
