Adding A Maker’s Mark

What was formerly Twigg & Co. has a new owner and new name. Teresa Pearce chose “Made & Found” to better describe what the Aberdeen shop is about. You’ll notice some layout changes but the store remains vendor-focused. Teresa wanted a bit more open floor space and also noticed that filling a whole booth could be challenging for some vendors, so she’s installed more standalone tables.

Teresa is working hard to bring in more curated items. “We want the individuality, the character of whatever you’re selling. It’s not about cheapest price or most convenient,” says Teresa. “We have to think about why we’re here. We’re not Target. It’s nice to support people who are out there trying to make something.”

Other plans include bringing in more art from Seagrove and around the state. Some harder-to-find craft supplies, such as alpaca wool, silk or high-quality yarns will also be stocked. The back room of the large building is being converted into a classroom space with a gallery wall. “I wanted to bring in more experience-based things,” says Teresa. “My grandmother was an artist. I grew up around that and would watch her teach classes. I saw how much of a community that creates.” Stay tuned for what else is new on Instagram.
