From a parade to a pig roast, here’s how to mark the occasion.

Saturday, 10 a.m.: Bundle up on Broad Street for the sixth annual Veterans Day parade, including a flyover by The Bandit Flight Team and National Colors Skydiving demo.

Saturday, 11 a.m.: A ceremonial wreath laying will take place at the Moore County Veterans Memorial in Carthage. Col. James A. Laterza, current director of the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, will speak.

Saturday, 11-1: The 82nd Airborne Rock Band performs at the Sunrise Stage. Wagon Wheel, anyone? Info.

Saturday, 4-8 p.m.: Crawl through downtown Pinehurst restaurants and businesses on a Reds, Whites and Brews wine walk. Craft beer and tapas will also be available. Dinner is served. Info.

Saturday-Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Fill up at the annual Veterans Day Pig Roast at The Sly Fox. Veterans and active military eat for $9.95; everyone else is $19.95. That’ll do, pig. Info.

Sunday, noon- 3 p.m.: Eat your little chili-loving heart out at the annual Chili Cookoff in downtown Southern Pines. Snag a spoon for $5 and vote on your favorite. Proceeds benefit SF chapter 62. Info.

Sunday, 1-7 p.m.: The BlueVass Festival brings cloggers and bluegrass bands to Sandy Ramey Keith Park in Vass. Barbecue and chicken plates are $8, and proceeds benefit the American Legion Post 296. Info.

Monday, 10-11 a.m.: NeuMe Physio holds a free yoga session for veteran and active-duty members, spouses and families at Sandhurst Park. Info.

Monday, 11 a.m.: The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) holds its annual observance at the Pinehurst Village Hall. Info.

Monday, 7 p.m.: The Sandhills Community College jazz band performs at the Dempsey Student Center, with music from the World War I and World War II eras.
