Come for the Vows, Stay for the Cows

If there’s one thing we know you love, it’s options. Now here’s another venue option a few small steps away from being ready to party. Meadow Oaks Ranch, located in Cameron, already has four weddings on the books beginning in April. Owners Joe and Brittany Prescher are open to all kinds of events, from graduation parties to retirements, baby showers, photoshoots and more. The rustic venue is built from wood they cleared from their land to build on. It has two bathrooms, covered patios, a prep kitchen and a bridal suite.

Brittany says this has been a dream of hers. The couple agrees they are most proud of the fact it was self-built (with the occasional help of a few generous friends). “I worked until midnight many nights just to get it done,” says Joe.

The venue can hold up to 175 people, depending on the setup. Brittany’s goal is to eventually have other rental options like linens, some decor pieces and more to help streamline event planning for clients.

The grounds are landscaped (don’t worry, grass has been planted) so you could get married by the pond, or at least take photos. They are adjusting their fences so their five highland cows will be right next to the venue, available for pets and pics during your event.

Joe also plans to use the space to host seminars and info nights for the Farmer Veteran Coalition. He has already gotten involved with the NC Co-op extension office. When starting the ranch from nothing Joe says, “I had to learn the hard way for most stuff. I don’t want that to be the case for other guys transitioning out of the military.”

A website for the venue is still in the works but those interested can contact the Preschers now through the ranch’s website
