In Queso You Missed It

Chuy’s Mexican Grill & Cantina opened Wednesday at 311 SE Broad St. in Southern Pines (the former home of Scott’s Corner). The new venture by Jessy Garcia has a more modern feel than his first restaurant, Casa Garcia in Carthage, and will be managed by his wife, Imelda Flores, and Hamilton Ayala.

Jessy says he’s already noticed the new location sees lots of foot traffic. “It did take us three and a half months to get where we’re at, so it’s been a long time coming. I’m excited.”

The space has been updated with while tile, neutral booths and a selfie wall designed by Imelda. Murals are planned for the inside and on the windows. There’s a full bar with pitchers of margs and daiquiris, and the menu carries around 10 items that you won’t find at the Carthage location, like quesabirria and barbecue enchiladas.
