Don’t Be Down in the Dumps
Some readers have been complaining trash being in the roads. We get it, it’s ugly. And people who litter are, well, trash. Most of us have no idea what to do about it, though. Who do you call? Is that someone’s job?
The simplest solution we have for you is to put on your rubber gloves and pick it up yourself. If that’s not your speed, here’s what you can try:
- Call the DOT’s Moore County division (910) 773-8070 and let them know there’s an area that needs attention.
- Try the county’s maintenance department, that works on litter a few days of the week, at (910) 773-8000.
- See if your highway is up for grabs, or if you can adopt it here.
- Join the efforts of a community organization like Keep Moore County Beautiful.
