Mudlife Crisis
We are far from pleased to announce that “500-year flood” can now be added to the list of things millennials have lived through. When we said “make it rain,” this isn’t quite exactly what we meant.

County officials declared a state of emergency at 10 p.m. Sunday, which remains in effect until 10 pm. Wednesday. That declaration can allow the county to deploy more resources and potentially access funding. Water is expected to continue to rise in certain areas, and officials are watching local dams closer than an angry beaver.
- What we don’t know: How the rain forecasted later in the week will affect *gestures wildly* everything.
- What we kinda know: The latest road closures. You can stay pretty much up to date with drivenc.gov.
- What we have hopefully learned: To stop driving through standing water. Emergency personnel have completed more than a dozen water rescues.
- What we’re investing in: A waterproof safe, a pontoon tiki boat and an insurance policy to protect against mayhem, which isn’t just an unhinged commercial character, but also our life.
- A not-so-fun fact: A local meteorologist estimated that enough rain fell yesterday to fill 750 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Just keep swimming, we guess.
