Back and Batter Than Ever
Remember Wishflower Lane ice cream shop in Carthage? The shop has changed owners, undergone a renovation and reopened as Wishflower Lane Bakery & Creamery Shoppe. Patty Hoffman is eager to start her first business. “I want people to get a welcoming, cozy feeling when they come in,” says Patty.

In addition to ice cream you’ll find various baked goods like scones, bagels, banana breads, cupcakes, cheesecakes and more. There will no longer be soft serve ice cream, but Patty did add floats, milkshakes and banana splits to the menu. Drip coffee will also be available.
Patty comes to bakery ownership after working in the federal prison system for 20 years. Talk about a career switch. She began baking to cope with the stress of the job and would often bake for coworkers and family friends. Early bakery mornings won’t bother her, as she’s used to working crazy hours. We’re guessing she won’t have any problems with customers, either.

“I’m excited for the community to come in and see the changes,” says Patty. Find it at 20 Courthouse Square, Carthage next to Kitten Around Cat Lounge. Hours are subject to change seasonally but current hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
