No need to go upside down to find yourself in Wonderland. Yup – Wonderland Tattoo studio is opening a second location in Southern Pines. For those unfamiliar, Kinga Ange has been operating Wonderland Tattoo in Asheboro for the last seven years. She decided on DTSP after noticing a lack of tattoo shops around and having several clients already from our area. The space is located at 279 W Pennsylvania Ave in Southern Pines, across from Busaba. Kinga was thrilled to find the two-story space with several private rooms. “Not everyone wants to be put on display while getting tattooed,” she says.
Wonderland is entirely female owned and operated and she plans to keep the new location that way, as well. Kinga herself will split time between the two shops and plans to add on a few more artists. Kinga and her entourage can tattoo in nearly every style, from tiny tats to large pieces. She is also skilled in tattoo coverups and scar coverups.
Kinga is originally from Budapest, Hungary and began tattooing abroad 16 years ago. Communication is at the forefront of her mind when it comes to tattooing. “I want to make sure everyone is comfortable enough to speak up if anything isn’t how they want it,” she says, “It’s your body.”
Kinga is excited to be in a new environment, saying, “Southern Pines is just so cool.” She hopes to be open by June at the latest but details like hours and days open are TBD. She does plan to allow walk-ins (as time allows) and occasional flash sale days once she gets settled in. Follow Wonderland Tattoo on IG to stay tuned for an opening date.
