Be The Fairest Of Them All

Grab your capes, corsets, wings and chainmail because something magical is coming to Moore County. Moonfire Realms Fantasy Faire and Gala is happening at Rubicon Farm September 26. The event was created by Alice Ellis and Jae Nikki after noticing the lack of nearby Renaissance and Fantasy faires. Despite being first-time event planners, the pair have leaned into their creativity to bring their vision to life. Both women would describe themselves as “bookish” and Jae is even a fantasy author. 

The daytime will cater to families and attendees will be able to explore Moonfire Realm’s “territories.” Each territory will play a part in the storytelling and guests will get a map upon arrival. Expect to see authors, apothecaries, visual artists, vendors, performers, food vendors, falconry and more. A whole storyline is being created around the world they are building for the faire.

The evening will transition to a gala indoors for those 18+. The gala will have a DJ, a grazing table and a celestial theme. Tickets will be available for both the faire and the gala or each separately. Costumes, naturally, are a must for both. “I love seeing the stuff people come up with,” says Jae, “it makes you feel like you’re in a different world or time period.” Alice agrees that the costumes are her favorite part of fantasy events.

Tickets are on sale now but there are also lots of opportunities for performers, LARP groups and more.
