The owners of two Southern Pines restaurants, Mai-Phi and Steve’s TK Pizza and Hot Subs, is bringing a new blend of boba milk tea and Asian street food to the former home of Nosh the Deli, at 169 NE Broad Street in downtown Southern Pines.

James Lam, his wife Keena and sister-in-law, Vivi Vonghom, see Bambu Boba Café as a downtown hotspot where your squad can gather over a spread of Vietnamese spring and summer rolls, potstickers and banh mi, or just relax over Vietnamese coffee and various boba/bubble teas with tapioca pearls.

James wasn’t looking for a space in downtown Southern Pines, but when Nosh closed he jumped at the opportunity.
“We just don’t have these kind of things here,” James says. “From what I gather from my other two spots, folks are driving to Fayetteville or Fort Bragg and it’s a drive for them, especially if they already have a commute.”

An exact menu has not been finalized, but, because you’ll ask, we do know that there are no plans to serve alcohol at this time. Hours are set at 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays.
Look for an opening date to be announced soon; and in the meantime, stop pressing your face up against the windows. If you want status updates, don’t be weird — just follow the restaurant here.
