War Dogs Surplus has added some much-need square footage by expanding into the unit next door to their shop on SW Broad St. — the former home of Jazzy’s Upscale Resale.
“It desperately needed to grow,” owner Peter Lopez said. “We grew out of the building we were in within the first year or two.”
You’ll find an expanded selection of military tactical gear, along with a lounge where you can hang out with … other military tactical gear enthusiasts. Peter added in a leather couch and TV to make the hangout spot complete.
“I want it to be kind of like a barber shop,” Peter said. “People can come hang out in here and they don’t have to buy anything. It’s not like that. It’s not about the money for me.”
The shop is open but Peter is still in the process of organizing merchandise, so give the store a call at 910-920-7749 before coming to browse. War Dogs Surplus is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. They’re open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
